Video is the new photo

Videos are getting the most attention on social media platforms.

Attention = everything else.

Instagram increased the amount of time videos play.

Facebook is bumping more and more videos to the top so that people see them in their feed.

With so much attention being directed to video, it's important to produce content in that medium, but with little experience in editing and no time to be chained to a desk (after work) trying to cut clips and loop images, I needed a way to edit videos that was easy from my iphone.

After testing a couple of products out, the apps Videorama and IMovie (not really an app) do the trick.

Videorama let's you insert photos or video directly from your camera roll, add music (which comes in the app), insert text on top of images (which was the most important thing for me), and even add filters and special effects.

If you're on social to stake your claim as the next Steven Spielberg, Videorama may not be high tech enough for you, but it get's the job done for those starting out.

Next, IMovie by Apple is fantastic. I haven't figured out how to overlay text on top of video and photos from my phone, but I've seen people do it from their ipads. IMovie makes movie editing a breeze, and even comes with templates that make you look more like a pro.

For video editing wherever you are, especially if you have five minutes between watching episodes of troll hunter with your little ones (side note, I like the series more than they do), these two apps are the way to go.
